A greenway bigger than Central Park. A square envisioned as the next Rockefeller Center. A neighborhood seen as the next Brooklyn…Dallas has long been in a search for its own cultural identity. Examples of Dallas in its cultural growth aimed at the top shelf of standard, New York. As the metroplex evolves today with an even greater population and relocation influx, a city once in search of its own place in the world is now defining its presence through its increasing diversity and exchange. The city is no longer second to no one.

So, what does this mean to the cultural landscape, given recent changes in the world and the way we think of the cultural space?In our “Potluck” we will discuss a range of projects that cover everything from the forefront of cultural exploration to those that embody a local sensitivity.

As Dallas continues to invite design voices from abroad, we will discuss how approaches can tie and push the boundaries of thinking collectively to help us make sense of a question.
